Celebrate 2017 at the Vietnamese Lunar New Year Festival

For most of the world, New Year's Day has come and gone, but the Vietnamese Lunar New Year doesn't happen until Saturday, January 28th. Ahead of the formal New Year, or "Tet" in Vietnam, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year Festival will be held right in Austin at the Travis Expo Center on Saturday, January 21st.

The festival kicks off at 5 p.m. thanks to the Vietnamese-American Community of Austin Texas, or VACAT. For the 18th year in a row, VACAT brings the traditions of Vietnam to the people of Austin and invites everyone to participate. Now housed within a larger and newer venue, expect to see a bigger crowd at this year's festival. Even non-Vietnamese food vendors are invited to attend, so expect a smorgasbord of unique international foods at this year's Vietnamese Lunar New Year Festival.
